Gallbladder Pain Forces Placido Domingo To Cancel Some Gigs
Fans hoping to hear Placido Domingo conduct “Tosca” at the Metropolitan Opera will have to wait a little longer: The maestro is suffering from gallbladder pain and will have to go under the knife, missing the first five shows.
The opera said Wednesday that Domingo was admitted to the hospital with inflammation and will undergo gallbladder removal next week. Domingo will have a brief hospital stay.
The opera said Domingo is expected to make a full recovery in time to conduct the performance on Nov. 6, 14, 18 and 21.
