Aussie Tours: Aldean Makes Debut

Chugg Entertainment has him at Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne March 8 and Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion March 9. Florida Georgia Line, also on its first Australian visit, will open.

Live Nation has regular Australian visitor, guitarist and songwriter Gary Clark Jr., headlining at Sydney Opera House Jan. 4 and Melbourne’s The Forum Jan. 7. These shows are after headlining slots at the Falls and Southbound festivals.

Garry Van Egmond added Sweden’s The Hives and Australia’s Kingswood to the Aussie leg of AC/DC’s Rock Or Bust Tour. The band’s homecoming takes in nine arena shows Nov. 4 to Dec. 8.

After their joint tour last year, Live Nation has Neck Deep and the State Champs on another 10-date club run together Jan. 6-15. 

Between The Buried And Me returns with its The Coma Ecliptic Tour IV for Destroy All Lines and Chugg Entertainment. Joining them in five clubs Feb. 25-29 are San Diego’s Chon.

Belinda Carlisle returns for Abstract Entertainment for ten theatre and club dates Feb. 26 to March 21. Opening are Australian electro-pop outfit Pseudo Echo, which emerged around the time Carlisle hit the local charts with the Go-Gos.

Delta Bravo and ArenaEnt have Bronx-raised rapper Fat Joe on his first visit, hitting three cities Oct. 29 to Nov. 2.

We Three Kings, whose previous visits sold out on the back of platinum hits, are back for another Australian/ New Zealand run. It begins with a one-off show in Auckland Feb. 23 before seven clubs Feb. 25 to March 3. These are booked through Metropolis Touring, Select Music and Taperjean Music.

Dawn French’s 30 Million Minutes Tour is proving to be one of the hottest tickets of the southern summer. Live Nation expanded the tour to include Canberra and Newcastle and confirmed her fifth show in Perth and third for Brisbane. The Jan. 28 to March 5 tour now balloons out to 22 shows.

Australian band Icehouse, following another major resurgence, added five more shows on their current run. It now takes in 14 theatre and winery shows Oct. 24 to Feb. 27.

New York’s Melanie Martinez will open for Dainty Group’s five-theatre Adam Lambert run Jan. 25-31. Two of the Original High Tour shows have sold out.
