Gaslight Anthem’s Brian Fallon On His Own
Fallon is heading to a recording studio in Nashville later this year with producer Butch Walker, who has worked with Taylor Swift, Frank Turner and Keith Urban. His debut, Painkillers, is due out in early 2016 via Island Records in the U.S. and EMI in the United Kingdom.
Although a specific release date hasn’t been set, we can talk about the initial tour routing, which begins Jan. 7 in Portland, Maine. Here’s the plan:
Jan. 7 – Portland, Maine, Port City Music Hall
Jan. 8 – Woodstock, N.Y., Bearsville Theater
Jan. 9 – Mashantucket, Conn., Fox Theater
Jan. 10 – Wilmington, Del., World Cafe Live @ The Queen – Downstairs
Jan. 12 – Pittsburgh, Pa., The Altar Bar
Jan. 13 – Columbus, Ohio, A & R Music Bar
Jan. 15 – Charlottesville, VA The Southern
Jan. 16 – Saxapahaw, N.C., Haw River Ballroom
Jan. 17 – Nashville, Tenn., City Winery Nashville
More dates will be announced soon, including a full-scale world tour following Painkiller’s release.
Fallon says the setlist will include selections from Elsie, the 2011 album he and guitarist Ian Perkins released under the side project The Horrible Crowes.
“I’m overjoyed to be making this solo record,” Fallon said. “And I can’t wait to go out on the road with the new songs I have as well as to get to play the Elsie album live again!”
Fallon will be joined on the road by Perkins, The Gaslight Anthem guitarist Alex Rosamilia, and Molly & The Zombies bassist Catherine Popper, as well as other special performers.
Presales for select shows are ongoing. The general onsale starts Friday, Oct. 9.
