Miranda Lambert to Join Kenny Chesney On Stadium Gigs

Chesney’s stadium shows have become must plays for the fortunate few chosen to appear on the same bill as the country superstar.  After all, Chesney’s record-breaking “Big Revival Tour” just closed with 120,206 fans celebrating that No Shoes Nation vibe during two nights at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass.

Now Lambert is joining in on the fun, although this won’t be the first time she has toured with Chesney.  The six-time female vocalist winner at the Country Music Association Awards is currently nominated for four 2015 CMAs, including entertainer and female vocalist of the year.

“Miranda is the real deal,” Chesney said.  “She’s a songwriter, first, and a real vocalist.  She puts it all out there when she’s on stage, and I loved touring with her so much in 2009, I can’t believe it’s taken this long to get her back out here – because I love every single thing about who she is as an artist and a person.”

The stadium shows will also include Sam Hunt, who wrote Chesney’s No. 1 hit “Come Over.”  Hunt has also done all right by himself, having seen three songs from his debut album, Montevello, become platinum-selling No. 1s – “Leave The Night On,” “Take Your Time” and “House Party.”

“The second I heard Sam’s demo for ‘Come Over,’ I knew he was onto something very unique,” Chesney said.  “Watching him develop as an artist, seeing his songwriting evolve – and knowing how he brings it when he gets onstage makes him a perfect act to come out with us.  He’s fun, alive and all about the music.”

But wait, there’s more.  Also joining the ticket is songwriting group Old Dominion, which appeared on Chesney’s 2015 stadium shows and whose songwriting credits include Dierks Bentley hit “Say You Do,” Tyler Farr’s “A Guy Walks Into A Bar” and a couple of tracks recorded by The Band Perry – “Better Dig Two” and “Chainsaw.”  Old Dominion also wrote Chesney’s 2015 single “Save It For A Rainy Day.”

“Old Dominion had a tough job this summer, and they got it done,” Chesney said.  “They’re hit songwriters, but they’re also guys who’ve played in a lot of clubs – and know how to connect with people.  I mean, not only are their songs solid, they’re great guys.”

Now comes the hardest part for a music fan – waiting for the touring schedule to be announced.  Stay tuned.
