Man Raises $30K, Gets Kenny Loggins To Play In Living Room
Erick Sanchez started the online campaign to raise money to have Loggins and his band, the Blue Sky Riders, perform at his parents’ home in Oakton. The 29-year-old public relations consultant and self-described “super-fan” got his wish Sunday. The band played all their hits, including “Danger Zone.”
“Everyone had a really great time, I mean, the energy in my living room was fantastic,” Sanchez said after the show, which he described as “surreal.”
More than 230 people donated to the effort, which raised more than $30,000. About 50 of them were able to watch the concert live from the Sanchez’s living room. Working on the show was like working on a wedding, Sanchez said, considering all of the time and effort that went into making it happen.
Loggins, who still tours and performs at theaters and university campuses, said, “This is the first time we’ve done anything like this – it felt really great.”
