Festival Noize: Life Is Beautiful, Pilgrimage, Buku, Louder Than Life

We’re getting closer and closer to Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival making its debut. Now that the set times are here, all we have to do is wait a few more weeks.

The fest takes place Sept. 26-27 at The Park at Harlinsdale in Franklin, Tenn.

Taking a look at Saturday’s set times, the Pilgrimage Midnight Sun stage features Wilco (6:15-7:30 p.m.), Sheryl Crow (4:30-5:45 p.m.), Iron & Wine (3-4 p.m.), Trampled By Turtles (1:30-2:30 p.m.) and more. Plus, you’ve got Weezer on the Fender Premium Audio Gold Record Road stage (5:15-6:30 p.m.), Punch Brothers on the Hard Rock Harpeth River stage (4:15-5:15 p.m.) and Casey Campbell at Hohner’s Little Pilgrim’s Family Stage (11:50 a.m.-12:15 p.m.).

On Sunday the Pilgrimage Midnight Sun stage will host Willie Nelson (6:15-7:30 p.m.), Band Of Horses (4:30-5:45 p.m.), Dawes (3-4 p.m.), The Lone Bellow (1:30-2:30), Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaries (12-1 p.m) and Nawas (10:45-11:30 a.m.) Sunday’s lineup also includes sets from Steven Tyler, Jimmy Cliff, Nikki Lane, The Decemberists, St. Paul & The Broken Bones and more.

Tickets are available now, starting at $92 for single-day GA passes (plus fees and sales tax). A portion of each ticket sale will benefit the City of Franklin and Franklin Parks. A portion of ticket sales will also go to MusiCares, a nonprofit that assists the music community with financial, medical and personal emergencies.

Rosario Dawson is stopping by Life Is A Beautiful Music & Arts Festival later this month to take part in the event’s “Learning Series.”

The third annual Life Is Beautiful will be back in downtown Las Vegas Sept. 25-27.

Dawson appears at Sunday’s edition of the Learning Series, “Challenging the Game,” in which “underdogs, athletes, and those with humble beginnings share stories of triumph over trials.”  The actress is expected to speak about overcoming defeat, facing adversity and more.

Previously announced speakers booked for the weekend include Bill Nye, Coach Ken Carter, Kat Graham, Geena Rocero and more.

As for the music, Life Is Beautiful’s lineup is topped by Stevie Wonder, Imagine Dragons, Kendrick Lamar, Duran Duran, Hozier, Snoop Dogg, Weezer, Major Lazer, Death Cab For Cutie, Chance The Rapper, and Brandon Flowers.

Get out your 2016 calendars and planners and save a spot for the Buku Music + Art Project. The fifth annual festival returns to New Orleans’ Mardi Gras World March 11-12.

You can once again expect “several unique indoor and outdoor stages along the Mississippi River,” along with “great New Orleans eats, custom-made art installations, and surprise pop-up performances throughout the site.”

Louder Than Life organizers have more festival news to shout about, including additional artists, a celebrity chef and the initial lineup for WWE’s NXT Superstars.

The second annual event is set for Oct. 3-4 at Champions Park in Louisville, Ky., with a lineup boasting Rob Zombie, ZZ Top, Godsmack, Shinedown, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Slash feat. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, Breaking Benjamin, 3 Doors Down, Bring Me The Horizon, Seether, Chevelle, Collective Soul and more.

The lineup just got even nosier with the addition of Trivium, Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown and Flaw.

In addition to all the music your ears can handle, you’ll be treated to live, in-ring matches with WWE’s NXT Superstars including Finn Balor, Tyler Breeze, Bayley, Baron Corbin, The Vaudevillians, Enzo Amore, Big Cass, Carmella and more.

By now you’ve probably worked up an appetite. You’re in luck because festival creator Danny Wimmer is personally curating the “Gourmet Man Food Village.” Tasty treats include selections from Doc Crow’s, Iron Barley, Highway 61 Roadhouse, Momma’s Mustard, Pickles and BBQ, Spotz Gelato, Hi-Five Doughnuts, Art Eatables, Louisville Dessert Truck and more.

Tom Coghill from Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives” is the first confirmed celebrity chef that will be stopping by.
