Public Image Ltd. – Voodoo & Beyond

Public Image Ltd. has big plans for fall. In Addition to releasing a new album in early September, the band’s first North America performance in three years happens on Halloween at New Orleans’ Voodoo Experience and will be followed by a coast-to-coast tour.

Public Image Ltd’s latest album – What The World Needs Now – lands in stores Sept. 4 via the group’s PiL Official imprint and will be distributed by Red Eye in the U.S.  Check out the promo clip for “Double Trouble.”

PiL has had more than a few personnel changes through the years.  Along with Lydon, today’s Public Image Ltd. lineup features multi-instrumentalist / former The Damned guitarist Lu Edmonds; drummer Bruce Smith of The Pop Group and formerly of The Slits; and bassist/multi-instrumentalist Scott Firth, whose credits include Elvis Costello, Steve Winwood and John Martyn.

As you might guess, Lydon had something to say about PiL playing Voodoo.

“Bring a gas mask and I’m going to fart continuously.  P.S.:  I want to see Donald Trump misrepresented with the greatest possible glee.”

We’re sure Lydon will offer equally poignant remarks when PiL arrives in your town.  Here’s the plan:

Voodoo Experience is already on sale.  Pre-sales for most headlining dates begin Aug. 25 at 10 a.m. and run through Aug. 27 at 10 p.m., with general onsales launching Aug. 28 at 10 a.m.  The pre-sale for Washington D.C. begins Aug. 24 at 10 a.m. and runs through Aug. 26 at 10 p.m. with the general onsale starting Aug. 27 at 10 a.m.  New York City’s general onsale begins Aug. 28 at 12 p.m. All times local.
