It was 2,000 up on last year’s 93,000 and the event sold out its 35,000 capacity on two of the three days. After spending a few years as the country’s second-largest festival, recording daily crowds of a little more than 20,000, the last two years have seen it leap-frog over Provinssirock, which recently recorded crowds averaging 26,000 per day.
The acts putting Ruisrock in pole position included Pharrell Williams, Ellie Goulding, Sonata Arctica, Bastille, Foals, David Guetta, Disclosure, and The Offspring.
