New NZ Festival Prepped For Nelson

It is the initiative of Nelson promoter Stu Allan, who says he’s gained support from private investors, businesses as well as the Nelson City and Tasman District councils, the Economic Development Agency and Nelson Tasman Tourism.

The festival will also showcase the region’s cuisine.

Allan said in a statement, “New Zealanders and overseas tourists already want to come to Nelson. It’s the best little city in New Zealand and our wine, fruit and seafood is as unforgettable as our spectacular scenery.”

A survey is being hosted at showcasenelson.co.nz for public feedback and ideas. He said he planned to approach acts including Annie Lennox, Mark Knopfler, Bryan Adams, Jackson Browne, Crosby Stills & Nash, Peter Gabriel, Van Morrison, Bryan Ferry, Elvis Costello, and Simply Red.
