Aussie HoF Inducting Robert Stigwood

Stigwood, 81, was born in Adelaide and moved in 1954 to England where he went on to manage the Bee Gees and Cream and was behind theatrical hits as “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “Hair,” and movies such as “Saturday Night Fever.”

The induction was to take place at the Australian embassy in London by Deputy High Commissioner Andrew Todd. The South Australian government last year set up the Stigwood Fellowship Program, for artist managers to get mentored by major Sydney-based management company Wonderlick, and for artists to gain skills and resources to further their career both in Australia and internationally.

Two of last year’s recipients, rapper Tkay Maidza and rock band Bad//Dreems, have since showcased abroad.
