Miranda Lambert Makes Fall Plans
“I really support female artists in any genre, especially country music right now,” Lambert said. “I’ve taken girls on tour for a long time and I want to continue to do that because I feel like I can give them a platform.”
RaeLynn and Monroe previously toured with Lambert on her spring tour. Lambert and Monroe go way back as members of the trio Pistol Annies. Monroe’s upcoming studio album features Lambert on a tune called “The Blade,” according to TasteOfCountry.com.
Lambert got better acquainted with Clare Dunn after recently catching her set at Stagecoach Festival.
“I hadn’t seen her before – but I’m a fan now,” Lambert said. “You don’t see that many women who get up there and really slay a guitar and play some real rock ’n’ roll country.”
The tour will also feature Courtney Cole, whose acoustic EP, #NoFilter, is currently exclusively at Spotify. Her debut single, “Drunk,” is available at iTunes.
Last week Lambert took home four trophies at the Academy of Country Music Awards including album of the year and female vocalist of the year. The tune “Automatic” earned her two awards for single record of the year as a performer and songwriter. She was also one of recipients of the 50th Anniversary Milestone Award.
Lambert’s award-winning album, Platinum, was released last June. Along with the hit “Automatic,” the LP includes “Little Red Wagon.”
She recently talked to Glamour about the meaning behind “Little Red Wagon.”
“I think it’s just about a state of mind,” Lambert said. “You know, [like], ‘I’ve got this on my own. I’ve got swagger … I think it’s just sassy, and it’s up for whatever interpretation you have as a person.”
So far, half a dozen dates and venues have been locked down for the “Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars Tour.” Additional shows will be booked in Missoula, Mont.; Mankato, Minn.; Roanoke, Va.; Tupelo, Miss.; Jonesboro, Ark.; Lacrosse, Wis.; and Ft. Wayne, Ind.
