Lorde Heads Back To Studio

Her first, Pure Heroine, hit the 1 million sales mark in the U.S. last year. Grammy-winning Little has just returned from Australia after working with Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns’ solo album.

Lorde and Little will work on song ideas at his Golden Sound Studios in Auckland but have no definite sound or style in mind.

“When it starts to feel right, we’ll know that it’s right. It’s pretty simple really,” he said. Lorde is determined not to hurry the process. At the Golden Globe awards, for which the duo’s “The Hunger Games” track “Yellow Flicker Beat” was nominated for best original song, she explained she had no timeline.

“For me I have to kind of write a project lyrically before I attack it musically. So I’ve written a lot of amazing stuff and I’m just tentatively starting to make it music,” she said.

Little also worked with NZ sibling duo Broods, Portland electro-pop band Priory, Scandinavia’s Elliphant & MØ, and rising Australian Jarryd James.
