Nneka’s U.S. Run
Nneka will be supporting her fourth studio album, My Fairy Tales, set for 26 release on May 26 on Bushqueen Music. You can see the songstress’s recent appearance on the BBC where she talked about the album and performed My Love, My Love, via this link.
Recorded in Paris while Nneka was living in The City of Light, the disc was produced by Mounir Maarouf, the Danish Silver Bullit team and The Slag.
“My Fairy Tales is a concept album, exploring the lives of Africans in the diaspora and the struggles they face,” Nneka said. “How we cope hustling in ‘another man’s land,’ but also the aspects of endurance, perseverance and gratitude.”
Nneka’s multi-national history begins in the Delta region of her Nigerian homeland. Having moved to Germany when she was 19, Nneka released her first album, Victim Of Truth in 2005. Nneka co-founded The Rope Foundation charity, which enables young people to express themselves through art. The singer also serves as the arts ambassador for the African Women Development Fund in Ghana.
