Neon Trees From Coast To Coast
Although the tour’s title might suggest that the dance/pop group may be the only act on the ticket, rest assured there will be support bands on this two-month excursion. Alex Winston and Yes.You.Are handle those duties on shows scheduled for June while July includes Coin and Fictionist on the bill.
Neon Trees’ third album, Pop Psychology, arrived last spring. Recorded in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, Los Angeles and the group’s Provo, Utah, home stomping grounds, the album featured the group working with longtime collaborator Tim Pagnotta. The single “Sleeping With A Friend” was certified gold by the RIAA and snagged a BMI publishing award.
As Neon Trees readies for the summer adventure, frontman Tyler Glenn stepped forward to spread the word about the band’s plans.
“At the end of last year we had made plans to take this year off, but honestly we got bored at home. We just love touring that much,” Glenn said. “We’re going to play songs from all three albums and it will be an entirely new show. We chose smaller clubs and theaters to make it a communal, fan driven experience for us and the audience.”
