Grossman Launching Mentor Program
Rick Grossman, bass player with the Hoodoo Gurus and a former member of The Divinyls and Men At Work, in May is launching a new initiative called Icon Mentors.

He and lecturer-in-voice Stephen Baker tapped major Australian songwriters to mentor rising talent on the craft. Names include Midnight Oil’s Rob Hirst and Jim Moginie, Suze de Marchi and Dave Leslie of Baby Animals, James Reyne, Diesel, Mark Seymour of Hunters & Collectors, Ian Moss of Cold Chisel and singer-songwriter Pete Murray.
Label, publishing and live sector executives – including Gotye co-manager John Watson, Frontier Touring’s Michael Harrison, Cold Chisel co-manager John O’Donnell and Andy Kelly of Winterman & Goldstein Management – will provide tuition on career strategies and business structures.
Classes are monthly, the first May 4 at Trackdown Studios in Sydney.
