New Site Spotlights Aussie Women
It was devised by Sarah Hamilton and Vader Fame of the Melbourne office of digital music and music video aggregator Ditto Music, and Joanna Cameron of the Australian Independent Record Labels Association.
Hamilton said, “We wanted to find out more about how they operate, their advice and experiences, and how they got to where they are” to inspire newcomers to the biz.
The first interviews on the site covered Bec Young, a booker at Artist Voice; Sophie Kirov, head of touring at Future Classic; Kirsty Brown, executive officer of music association Music NSW; Poppy Reid, editor of trade publication The Music Network; Linda Bosidis, head of A&R at Mushroom Music Publishing; R&B singer-songwriter Airling; Hazel Savage, marketing manager at Pandora Australia; Gerry Bull, head publicist at youth radio network triple j; and Maya Janeska, label manager at independent group UNFD.
