Former Korn Drummer Sues Band

David Silveria filed a lawsuit Feb. 26 in Los Angeles Superior Court seeking damages for breach of partnership agreement and an order dissolving the Korn partnership, according to Courthouse News Service.

Silveria left Korn in 2006, a move he calls “a temporary hiatus” with every intention to return to the band. He and says he never relinquished or abandoned his partnership in Korn, according to the News.

Silveria intented to rejoin the band in 2013 but the band wasn’t interested. That prompted Silveria to rally Korn fans, asking them to demand his return as the band’s drummer to no avail.

“Silveria was extremely disappointed that his business partners and former bandmates would refuse to allow him to return to a band that he helped build, even though a few months prior the band allowed (Brian “Head”) Welch to return,” Silveria says in the lawsuit. “Silveria’s disappointment was exacerbated by the fact that despite personally reaching out to each of his former bandmates, he received the news of the band’s decision through (manager Peter) Katsis.”
