To Boldly Go …

Combining a live symphony orchestra with film footage from one of the entertainment world’s most popular franchises, “Star Trek: The Ultimate Voyage” will beam down to performing arts centers in more than 100 cities in 2016.

Presented by CineConcerts, CBS Consumer Products and Paramount Pictures, the tour will play the U.S. and Canada through the end of April.  “Star Trek: The Ultimate Voyage” will draw music and visuals from the various TV series as well as motion picture films.

“The Star Trek franchise has for many years been an important and meaningful part of our culture in so many ways,” said the tour’s conductor, CineConcerts producer/founder Justin Freer.  “This exciting concert experience featuring the greatest music and visuals spanning five decades will be an extraordinary and memorable event.”

CineConcerts is certainly experienced with matching live music to film.  The company’s achievements include providing concert experiences for cinematic classics such as “The Godfather” and “Gladiator” and will soon premiere “Breakfast At Tiffany’s.”

While no specific 2016 shows have been announced, there is one date you can mark on your calendar – a pre-tour engagement at London’s Royal Albert Hall Nov. 1.

Of course, there is a tour website.  Grab your tricorder and warp over to StarTrekVoyageLive.com for more information.
