Foo Fighters For Glastonbury

Glastonbury’s website has confirmed the act will headline the Pyramid Stage on its Friday, which will be Foo Fighters’ first appearance at the UK festival since 1998.

In October, the 135,000 tickets for this year’s Glastonbury sold out in 27 minutes, following the 15,000 ticket and coach travel passes put on sale a few days earlier. Fans who haven’t managed to snag tickets will have a second chance in April, when there will be a re-sale for any that have been canceled or returned.

“We feel incredibly lucky to have confirmed the Foo Fighters for the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury this year,” said festival organizer Emily Eavis. “Very few bands have the power to unite and energise a crowd like Foo Fighters do. We can’t wait for them to rock Worthy Farm on Friday night.”

Last year, Grohl told NME that the Foo Fighters were “overdue” a Glastonbury slot after last performing there 16 years ago. In November Rock Werchter chief Herman Schueremans moved his Belgian festival forward by one week to fit in with Foo Fighters’ tour plans. The UK bookies reckon the other Glastonbury (June 24-28) headliners will likely include Coldplay, Prince or Queen.
