Maryland Fest Canceled
Silopanna Music Festival – Annapolis spelled backward – faces an uncertain future in Maryland with the cancellation of its 2015 edition.
It was forced to cancel its inaugural event in 2011 thanks to Hurricane Irene.
Silopanna ran in 2012 with 20 bands including Cake, G. Love & Special Sauce, and Citizen Cope, but canceled again the next year when a suitable lineup didn’t gel, according to the Capital Gazette.
Last year, Silopanna did take place at Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds in Crownsville, Md., with three stages and artists including The Flaming Lips, Dashboard Confessional, and Matt & Kim, drawing 5,000 people.
Rams Head Group VP Erin McNaboe told the Gazette that it was a business decision to call off the festival in 2015, adding it is unclear if there will be another next year.
