U2 Expands iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour
Plus, the Irish rockers have announced extra nights in Boston, Amsterdam and Stockholm.
“The sales for The iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour have been brilliant and we are working to satisfy the incredible demand,” said Live Nation’s Arthur Fogel, President – Global Touring and Chairman – Global Music.
The mega tour is in support of U2’s 13th studio album, Songs of Innocence. Just about everyone in the world should be familiar with the LP after Apple gave it to more than a billion iTunes Music Store customers in September. Rolling Stone named Songs of Innocence No. 1 in its list of the “50 Best Albums of 2014.” RS notes, “In its range of sounds, there may be no more complete U2 album.”
The outing kicks off with two nights in Vancouver May 14-15. Every city on the routing is hosting the band for at least two evenings. Fans might want to buy tickets to multiple shows because the band is planning to make the multi-night gigs unique.
“We are going to try to have a completely different feeling from night one to night two, and have some fun playing with the idea of innocence and experience,” Bono said. “More to be revealed!”
Thanks to the newly announced shows, U2 is spending four nights in Montreal, Chicago, Boston, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Berlin and Paris, along with six nights in New York.
