Bill Cosby Cancellations

At this time Cosby is still planning on playing his 30-plus city tour, including his sold-out show in Melbourne, Fla., scheduled for tonight.  However, the Treasure Island hotel/casino in Las Vegas has canceled his Nov. 28 show, saying it was a “mutual agreement” with the comic legend, according to Associated Press.  The AP also reports that no reason was given for the Diamond Casino in Tucson, Ariz., canceling Cosby’s Feb. 15 gig.

Just as Pollstar was about to post this story, there was word from the Virginia Theatre in Champaign, Ill., that it had canceled Cosby’s two shows scheduled for April 11.

Cosby performed last night at a benefit staged in Nassau, Bahamas, for a women’s service organization.  People magazine reports the comedian did not acknowledge the claims made by several women that he sexually assaulted them in past years.

The number of women who, at one time or another, have made claims of sexual assault by Cosby keeps growing. The  Atlanta Journal Constitution/AJC.com has compiled a list of 10 women who have gone public with their accusations, ranging from former Temple University employee Andrea Constand who told police in 2005 that Cosby gave her sleeping pills before assaulting her, to Carla Ferrigno, wife of “Incredible Hulk” actor Lou Ferrigno, who claimed that Cosby planted an unwanted kiss on her while she was visiting his home in 1967.  The list does not include 13 anonymous “Jane Does” named in a 2005 civil suit which Cosby reportedly settled in 2006.

In a statement released Nov. 16, Cosby’s lawyer called the claims “decades-old, discredited allegations,” saying that just because people are repeating them “does not make them true.”
