McNico, Brennock For AWME
Bonnaroo’s Robin McNico and Holly Brennock of the Windish Agency join Chris Frayer of Winnipeg Folk, Linda Tanaka of Vancouver Folk, Grant Paley of Winnipeg’s Paquin Artist Agency and Jonathan Campbell of Toronto’s Harborfront Centre make up a North American contingent speaking at the Australasian Worldwide Music Expo (AWME).
Focused on world music, it takes place for the seventh year Nov. 14-15 at the Arts Centre Melbourne. AWME focuses on global opportunities in touring and marketing, where to find sympathetic publishers, record labels and radio, fostering a new generation of indigenous talent, diversifying income and the shifting new media landscape.
Other speakers include Glastonbury’s Malcolm Haynes, Divya Bhatia of India’s Jodphur Riff, Lisa Whytock of Showcase Scotland Expo, Min Kim of South Korea’s APaMM, Brad Haynes of UK’s World Music Network, Jerome Williams of the Netherland’s Earth Beat and Australian festival directors Peter Noble, Woody McDonald and Richard Moffat as well as Rhoda Roberts of the Sydney Opera House, Sean Simmons of Premier Artists and Millie Millgate and Glenn Dickie of export body Sounds Australia.
