Sheeran Moves 150K Tix Downunder

Frontier Touring announced he sold 150,000 tickets to date, while adding two extra shows in Brisbane and Perth to bring the tally to 17.

The British singer-songwriter performed at the Australian Football grand final Sept. 27 at Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The game, before 100,000, was televised to 4 million. Sheeran’s X album was at No. 1 for the fifth week on the ARIA chart week beginning Oct. 13, while his “Thinking Out Loud” single took top spot a second week.

The dates, March 20 to April 12, are the first arena run by a solo act since John Denver’s in the ’90s.
