The marketing arm of the Hawaii Tourism Authority in Japan has been trying to bring the popular group to Hawaii for two years, according to Pacific Business News.
The event involves flying “two large multimillion-dollar stages” from Japan, the first time Arashi’s entire production has been hauled that far.
The company is helping arrange tour packages for Japanese fans of the group and said that 15,000 visitors from Japan comprising 18 specially chartered flights are already confirmed for the concerts.
In all, they expect more than $18 million in direct spending from concertgoers and the equivalent of more than $100 million in public relations and advertising value.
