Shows Go On For Jeff Beck
Hill slipped and fell on his hip while on the band’s tour bus Tuesday evening. A statement from ZZ Top notes the injury “requires immediate attention.”
The tour was supposed to play the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, Mich., Wednesday, as well as Ravinia Festival At Ravinia Park in Highland Park, Ill., tonight. While those shows are canceled, Beck is continuing with the rest of this week’s plans.
The following previously scheduled dates are good to go for Beck:
Aug. 29 – Salamanca, N.Y., Event Center At Seneca Allegany Casino & Hotel
Aug. 30 – Atlantic City, N.J., Harrah’s Atlantic City
Aug. 31 – Mashantucket, Conn., Grand Theater
Tyler Bryant opens. Beck will be backed by his band – Jimmy Hall on vocals, Rhonda Smith on bass, Jonathan Joseph on drums and Nicolas Meier on guitar.
“While we are very disappointed to not continue this tour with ZZ Top, our thoughts and best wishes are for Dusty to have a speedy recovery,” Beck says.
ZZ Top/Beck co-headline dates were booked through Sept. 13. Beck says the following gigs will potentially be rescheduled:
Sept. 6 – Alpharetta, Ga., Verizon Wireless Amph. At Encore Park
Sept. 7 – Saint Augustine, Fla., St. Augustine Amphitheatre
Sept. 9 – West Palm Beach, Fla., Cruzan Amphitheatre
Sept. 10 – Tampa, Fla., Midflorida Credit Union Amphitheatre
Sept. 12 – The Woodlands, Texas, The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion
Sept. 13 – Thackerville, Okla., Winstar Casino
Fans can hold onto tickets for a possible future announcement regarding the new dates. Refunds are also available at point of purchase.
Edited: Beck has confirmed that Sept. 2 in Boston; Sept. 3 in Columbia, Md.; and Sept. 4 in Wantagh, N.Y., are canceled.
