Van Eerdenburg For More Panel Duty
Next up will be Hamburg’s Reeperbahn conference Sept. 17-20, where he must be the first name down because he’s guaranteed to be able to speak for the more successful festivals.
“It was very good,” he told Pollstar, and will doubtlessly repeat it at various festival panels, after this year’s Lowlands Aug. 15-17 sold out for the seventh year in succession. In 2012 it sold out in three days, last year’s festival took less than a couple of hours and this year it went in about the same time.
With not having to think about ticket sales since the beginning of May, one of van Eerdenburg’s remaining concerns is the weather.
He reported that this year’s festival had mixed weather, with one heavy shower hitting the get-in. There were a few drops of rain on the first and second days, but it was much heavier on the final day.
The acts helping raise van Eerdenburg’s profile as a European conference panelist included Queens Of The Stone Age, Stromae, Disclosure, Skrillex, Snoop Dogg, Sam Smith, James Holden, Janelle Monae, The National, and Royal Blood.
