Joan Armatrading Farewells Australia

Veteran British troubadour Joan Armatrading’s global farewell tour hits Australia at the end of the year.

Bluesfest Touring has her at seven theatres Dec. 4-14. Her last tour, in 2013, sold out.

Australian R&B singer Guy Sebastian, whose “Battle Scars” single with Lupe Fiasco sold 1 million copies in the U.S. last year, plays his biggest tour in his home market. He does six arenas Feb. 12-28, to an average of 14,000 fans a show.

Justin Townes Earle returns after 18 months for Love Police. He’s playing for the first time downunder with his full band, doing seven clubs Oct. 11-22. Openers include Canadian Lindi Ortega who played sold-out shows in Sydney and Melbourne in April and took in two festivals, and New Zealand’s Marlon Williams who rates Earle as a major inspiration.

Australian children’s entertainer and host of TV’s Play School, Justine Clark, does a five-theatre run for Live Nation Nov. 22 to Dec. 14.

Andrew Dice Clay’s The Diceman Cometh Down Under tour through One World Entertainment takes in 13 theatres Oct. 7-27.
