Allen Stone’s Fall Headline Romp
We’ll get the obvious out of the way. You won’t see any stops in Stone’s Seattle hometown on this run. That’s because the singer is planning a series of events around the release of his new Radius album.
That’s right, Stone has new music on the way. For the autumn journey, Stone will be playing a few songs from his upcoming Radius long player. What’s more, three songs will be available on a special CD called, appropriately, The RADIUS Preview, that fans can obtain only at his concerts.
Stone recorded Radius with his longtime co-producer, Swedish musician Magnus Tingsek with sessions taking place in Malmo, Sweden, and at Stone’s Chewelah, Wash., cabin studio. Stone recently gave fans a sample of his new tunes via a video featuring a stripped-down performance of “Million.”
“My number one joy is playing live, so when I write records I really just think of what song I could write that would be really fun to play live,” Stone said. “Basically my job is to throw a party for people every night when we’re on tour.”
As to his tour plans, Stone is currently doing some dates with The John Butler Trio, playing New York’s Central Park Summerstage June 17; Filene Center At Wolf Trap June 18; Philadelphia’s River Stage June 20 and Boston’s Blue Hills Bank Pavilion June 21.
Other Stone shows on the horizon include San Francisco’s
