The Return Of ‘Ghost Brothers Of Darkland County’

The Southern gothic supernatural musical created by horror author Stephen King and John Mellencamp with musical direction by T Bone Burnett returns to the touring circuit this fall.

 “Ghost Brothers Of Darkland County” tells the story of Joe McCandless who saw his two brothers squabble over a girl, an incident that resulted in the deaths of the rivals and their love – igniting a gruesome legend that continues to present times.

But life goes on and McCandless eventually finds himself raising two boys of his own.  Seeing his sons fight amongst themselves rekindles McCandless’ tragic memories of siblings lost.  Meanwhile, a nasty entity sings songs of heaven and hell.

A “Ghost Brothers Of Darkland County” box set, mini-documentary and an e-book were released in 2013 and the tour began in the fall.  Now it’s back featuring an ensemble cast of 15 actors and a four-piece live band, made up of Mellencamp’s own group.

Are you ready to return to Darkland County?  Because last year’s run opened in Mellencamp’s home state of Indiana, it seems only fitting that the production begin its journey in King’s stomping grounds in the great state of Maine.  Presented by AEG Live, Here are the dates:
