Summer’s Sweet Spot

Your chance to experience Matthew Sweet live on stage begins next month as the alt-rocker goes on a journey that includes new music as well as his classic hits. Stops include Boston, Chicago, Cleveland and Pittsburgh.

Sweet has some mighty big hits in his catalog.  Although he was born and raised in Nebraska, the man behind “Girlfriend,” “Sick Of Myself,” “I’ve Been Waiting” and “Devil With The Green Eyes” emerged as one of the young musicians of the then-burgeoning music scene in Athens, Ga.., that was spearheaded by R.E.M.  Albums such as Girlfriend and Altered Beast quickly became must haves for music fans while Sweet became a very familiar face on MTV.

For his next album Sweet will be enlisting help from his fans by launching a Kickstarter campaign.  Expect more information in the coming weeks.  Meanwhile, we have a tour for you to examine.
