Gulfport Council: No To Concert; New Venue Secured

The Gulfport City Council has rejected an outdoor Lil Boosie concert for Saturday, but the promoter quickly secured a new venue where the rapper from Baton Rouge will perform.

Keith Brown tells The Sun Herald Saturday’s concert will be at Club Envy just north of downtown Gulfport. He said tickets bought for the outdoor concert will be honored for the 9 p.m. Lil Boosie show at the club. He did not know how many people the venue will hold.

The city council rejected a request Tuesday to waive the noise ordinance for Lil Boosie and supporting bands to hold a concert Saturday afternoon and evening at the Amos Croutch Sr. ball field in North Gulfport. Brown said he will need no waivers or special permission for the indoor show.
