Midi Music Thrives Despite Mud
Chinese state television has reported that this year’s Midi Music Festival Shanghai, China’s largest, attracted 40,000 people to the Sanjiagang Port resort the weekend of April 25-27 despite “heavy rains and muddy roads.”

Almost all the rain fell on Saturday, but it was enough to make the seaside venue a big basin of mud on Sunday.
The biggest foreign act at the festival this year was Suede, whose song “So Young” was featured in a hit Chinese film of the same name last year.
Suede will also headline the Beijing leg of the Midi Festival, which takes place May 1-3, a holiday in China.
