Industry Noize: AEG's New Jersey

The Jersey Shore is about to get a new, 7,500-seat amphitheatre and AEG Live has been tapped to book it.

Thoroughbred Management and the concert promoter inked an exclusive deal announced April 17 for the venue slated to open in May 2015. It is part of the Monmouth Park Racetrack complex in Oceanport, N.J., that includes plans for a boardwalk and restaurant in addition to the Bluegrass Miniature Golf Course that opened in 2012.

Once completed, the amphitheatre will include 3,500 covered seats and a lawn that holds another 4,000. Specific terms of the multi-year deal were not released.
