Robinson Seeks Seminole Settlement
The Seminole Tribe that owns Hard Rock International has been asked to pony up millions in a settlement to a baseball Hall of Famer who was injured in a fall from a stage during a charity event at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Fla.

Brooks Robinson is seeking nearly $10 million from the tribe after suffering head, back and shoulder injuries in 2012 that he claims have forced him to undergo physical therapy and limited his appearances and participation in celebrity golf tournaments, baseball fantasy camps and charity events.
An attorney for Robinson has claimed the tribe was negligent and violated local building codes by failing to provide railing around the stage.
Another man allegedly fell from the same stage just an hour before Robinson did.
Although the Seminole tribe has immunity protections that limit damages to $200,000 for individuals who suffer an injury at the hotel, a spokesperson did note it is possible to negotiate higher settlements in some cases. Robinson’s attorney has threatened to sue if a settlement is not reached.
