Buku Reveals 2020 Lineup Ahead Of Onsale
The Big Easy is getting a big hip-hop/electronic festival once again as New Orleans’ Buku Music + Art Project has booked a ninth incarnation with some genre heavyweights.
Big names on the lineup include Tyler, The Creator, Flume, Illenium, Glass Animals, Run The Jewels, Alison Wonderland, Zeds Dead, Megan Thee Stallion, Charli XCX, Kaytranada, Cashmere Cat, Ari Lennox, Flatbush Zombies, Roddy Ricch and many more.
There are also outliers on the bill that decidedly fall outside of the electronic/hip-hop world, like Taking Back Sunday and Dance Gavin Dance, which decidedly fit more into the rock category.
American Express and Tunespeak are each offering presales on Dec. 12. General admission and VIP tickets go on sale to the general public Dec. 13 at 10 a.m. CST. Four-installment payment plans are available for all tickets, requiring 10% down.
With five stages at Mardi Gras World grounds, Buku bills itself as “is the creative intersection of an underground warehouse party and major urban music.” The event will feature tons of unique art installations and a real-time Live Graffiti Gallery from local artists. The event will also be donating a portion of ticket proceeds to Upbeat Academy Foundation.
Buku started out as a project of Huka Entertainment, but has survived that promoter’s decline and increased it’s on-site capacity in 2018. The festival made headlines that year after Lil Uzi Vert failed to show up for his headline set, as organizers projected a message onstage placing full blame on the rapper.
