Dean Lewis is now being represented worldwide by WME. The agency confirmed the news Friday and noted that the Australian singer/songwriter continues to be managed by Jim Sabey and Leonie Conley at Jay Street Management.
Lewis has had quite a year, with his debut-full length album, A Place We Knew, released in March; along with being named Apple Music’s latest Up Next Artist and making his late night debut on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
The artist has been busy on the road, playing headline dates and festivals in North America, Europe and his native country. Reports submitted to Pollstar’s Boxoffice include a Sept. 30 show at 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C., that sold 949 tickets and grossed $28,470.
His latest single “Used To Love” with Martin Garrix has racked up just under 10 million streams in its first week across all platforms. Overall he has 2.5 billion streams worldwide, including his smash hit “Be Alright.” The tune has received one billion streams and an eight times Platinum certification in Australia, two times Platinum in the USA, four times Platinum in Switzerland, and three times Platinum in Canada.
Lewis talked about the massive success of “Be Alright” when being interviewed for the cover of Pollstar in March.
“I didn’t realize it would be global, like it’s big in Belgium and it’s doing stuff in France and in Singapore – these places that are unattainable for an Australian artist.
“You grow up hearing that it’s sort of not possible – especially not North America. There’s been like five artists in the last 10 years from Australia that have even had small success here.”
Lewis is currently working on his sophomore album. He was previously represented by CAA.
