Through a partnership with Dice Tickets, Primavera Pro became “the world’s biggest 100% mobile festival,” by its own admission. The partnership also marks Dice’s launch in Spain, reported on earlier.
The multi-year deal encompasses all the European festivals and tours of promoter Primavera Sound S.L., including the flagship event Primavera Sound Barcelona that attracted 220,000 people in 2019, and celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2020.

Other events now powered by Dice include NOS Primavera Sound Festival in Porto, and the club night Nitsa at Sala Apolo in Barcelona.
Pablo Soler, founder of Primavera Sound, said: “Our team has been selling tickets for headliner shows and club nights for three decades and Primavera Sound faces it’s 20th anniversary next edition. Selling tickets is key, and everything we know from Dice makes their platform the best option both for our festivals and events.”
Soler mentioned the ticketing platform’s “top security features for the fan and the promoter, a great user experience, dedicated service to customers and the suppression of all use of paper,” in particular.
Dice CEO Phil Hutcheson believes, Dice has fixed the problems of ticketing from a fan’s perspective. “When artists and promoters use Dice, tickets don’t end up on the secondary market. We make it super easy for fans to buy and we use our data to help fans discover amazing events. A third of our sales now come via the Dice recommendation engine,” he explained.
DICE offers fans, who cannot make a gig, the option to return their tickets onto a waiting list, where other fans, who were unsuccessful in the on sale, can buy them for the original price. Tickets are animated and locked to smartphones, requiring a two-step authentication.
“Dice’s Refund and Waiting List feature removes the need for secondary resale,” Hutcheson continued, “the app is highly personalized for each fan with a ‘Discover’ feature that combines algorithms with music streaming data, to learn what each fan loves and to recommend upcoming gigs and events
just for them.”
Hutcheson, who’s been a regular visitor at Primavera Sound for years, said it was “an exciting time for Primavera as they continue to expand globally and with Dice they have a team that is on a relentless mission to get people out more. Primavera are again leading by example – this time to eliminate scalping while offering their fans the best ticket buying experience possible.”
