Eric Bresler is leaving his post as executive director of the just-opened Chase Center in San Francisco, telling Pollstar he’s proud of the opening of the 18,000-seat venue and eager to see what’s next.
“I’m super proud of the opening and made the decision that I want to see what else is on the horizon,” Bresler tells Pollstar. “The arena is obviously set up for success and I‘m happy with the decision, the Warriors have been terrific and super supportive and equally proud of the opening.
“I’m going to leave at the end of the month but from my standpoint and everyone else’s, it’s a good thing and I’m definitely excited about the future. Life’s about adventures and you sort of see what’s out there.”
The Warriors echoed the sentiment with the following statement:
“After spending the last few years setting us up for success by creating an amazing opening at Chase Center, with an unprecedented lineup for the first month of opening, Eric Bresler has decided to seek a new challenge,” Warriors President & Chief Operating Officer Rick Welts said in a statement to Pollstar. “We want to thank Eric for his hard work and efforts in creating one of the most memorable openings in arena history.” Bresler’s exit was first reported by Billboard.
Bresler was most recently with AEG Facilities as VP of event booking and development, and has spent time with major roles at arenas including AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami.
Bresler was a big part of Chase Center’s opening, which included two “S&M2” Symphony And Metallica concerts, Sept. 6 and Sept. 8, which grossed a combined $4.1 million at the $1 billion-plus privately developed arena and surrounding retail and office campus, financed by Warriors owners Joe Lacob and Peter Guber.
Previous Chase Center COO Stephen Collins announced in December he would be joining Oak View Group (Pollstar’s parent company) as COO upon completion of the arena to oversee construction and completion of OVG’s Arena Alliance projects.
