Randy Phillips has stepped down as CEO of LiveStyle, formerly SFX Entertainment, in order to concentrate on managing the career of Why Don’t We and return to a business project he’d set aside at the time he was approached to help reorganize SFX after its 2016 bankruptcy filing.

He tells Pollstar that he’ll rejoin tech entrepreneurs Steve Miller and David Loeffler to further develop Halogen, a social media content delivery and monetization application that sits across most major social media platforms and is a way for creators to generate revenue, particularly in the gaming world.

Between that, and returning to management duties as Why Don’t We scores its first radio hit — the Ed Sheeran-penned “What Am I,” Phillips felt he’d completed his mission at LiveStyle. His resignation was first reported by Billboard.

Phillips agreed to helm SFX, which he quickly re-branded as LiveStyle, for three years and, with his contract ending in December, he arranged an early exit but will continue to advise the company and its leadership through that time, including LiveStyle Chairman Andrew Axelrod, CFO Chuck Ciongoli and North American President Gary Richards.

LiveStyle produces some of the largest dance events and festivals in the world, including Electric Zoo through its Made Events company; Spring Awakening and All My Friends as well as producing the Friendship cruise featuring the best in dance music on the open seas.
