Alive Coverage – Electric Zoo 2019
New York City’s longest-running and largest electronic music festival saw its 11th year its most successful since 2013 according to organizers, with more than 107,000 fans at “Electric Zoo Evolved” to see artists including Above & Beyond, Eric Prydz, Dog Blood (Skrilex and Boys Noize) , Diplo and many others Aug. 30 to Sept. 1 at Randall’s Island Park.
“We looked at from a creative perspective this year and wanted to make a bit of a change in branding,” Made Event chief marketing officer Michael Julian told Pollstar ahead of the event, adding that the focus is on massive light shows, heightened production and top-notch sound. “This is going to be the earliest to sell out a single date and, for Friday, the highest attendance since 2013.” Both Saturday and Sunday sold out, according to organizers.
“Most importantly, it was a great lineup, very dynamically curated with all types of sound and very important headliners – with Eric Prydz, Diplo, and then Skrillex coming back as Boys Noize. It’s a great year.”

Electric Zoo was developed by promoter Made Event and has been produced by the company since 2009, and continues to do after being acquired by LiveStyle, helmed by concert industry veteran Randy Phillips and concert promoter and DJ Gary Richards, also known as Destructo.
“We’ve stopped exporting Electric Zoo internationally, and I think gave us more of a chance to focus on things at home,” Julian said. “I’m glad we’ve made that decision and happy with how things have gone this year.”
Organizers say to expect Electric Zoo back at Randall’s Island in 2020.
