DJ Khaled Tops Elite 100 Artists; Tyler, The Creator Leads In Streams

Who shouts his own name in all his music and is leading the Elite 100 Artists chart for the week ending May 23? It’s DJ KHALED! 
The chart leader’s new album, Father Of Asahd, dropped May 17 and boasts an unparalleled list of hip-hop features: Cardi B & 21 Savage; the late Nipsey Hussle & John Legend; SZA; Jeezy & Rick Ross; Travis Scott & Post Malone; Jay-Z, Future & Beyoncé; Justin Bieber, Chance The Rapper & Quavo; Lil Wayne & Gunna; Chris Brown, Lil Wayne & Big Sean all appear on tracks. 
No surprise, then, that Khaled’s project propelled him to No. 1 overall, with 152,800 total album units. The DJ was the chart leader in the album sales with 30,200 and was no slouch in the song sales category (72,600) and in on-demand streams (139.5 million). 
Though he is largely without peer in the hitmaker category, he also is a fixture on the road. DJ Khaled performed in dozens of North stadiums last year as part of Jay-Z/Beyoncé’s OTR II tour, along with Chloe X Halle. Prior to that he was on tour Demi Lovato and Kehlani throughout North American arenas.
The only artist to surpass Khaled in the on-demand streams category was Tyler, The Creator, who logged 150.3 million for the week. He came in with 121,800 total album units, with 11,600 album sales and 12,100 song sales after the release of IGOR May 17.
Tyler is scheduled to perform at Governors Ball festival in New York and Firefly in Delaware this year and has his own hometown festival, Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival, lined up at Dodger Stadium.
The leader in the song sales category this week is Lil Nas X, whose “Old Town Road” continues to propel him to new heights. He sold 81,000 songs for the week.
Beyond the, the chart is full of new appearances and climbers after a busy week of releases. 
The National made big gains after the release of I Am Easy to Find May 17. The band sold 26,900 albums for the week, propelling it to the No. 29 spot.
Not far behind was Rammstein, which released its latest, untitled album May 17, which helped push the band’s 28,000 album sales, to the No. 34 position.
Megan Thee Stallion released her latest album, Fever, May 17, which earned her 37.2 million on-demand streams and moved her to No. 40. 
The Head And The Heart also released Living Mirage May 17, which got the group to No. 65 on the chart, with 15,600 album sales and 10.1 million on-demand streams.
Rapper/singer Polo G also hopped onto the chart at the No. 72 position, with 21.6 million streams as his strongest metric. He released the single “Deep Wounds,” May 17.
Finally, composer Ramin Djawadi, who released “Game Of Thrones: Season 8 (Music from the HBO Series)” May 19, hit the chart at No. 99, with its strongest metric being 18,500 song sales. That music will be performed at the “Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience,” and Djawadi himself will appear at a few dates in New York and California.
Next week’s chart will include data on new projects from Flying Lotus, Morrissey, Sting, YG, $uicideboy$ & Travis Barker, Justin Townes Earle, and Mavis Staples.
Also be on the lookout this week for new releases from Denzel Curry, Thomas Rhett, Duff McKagan, Chrishan & OG Parker,  Mozzy, Skepta, Sarah Davachi, Bedouine, and Jim Jones.
