Breakaway Music Festival Announces Multi-City Lineups, Adding Four Cities Next Year

Festival promoter Prime Social Group has announced full lineups for its 2019 Breakaway Music Festivals in its home market of Columbus, Ohio; Grand Rapids, Mich.; Nashville and Charlotte, N.C., with major electronic and hip-hop artists such as Kaskade, Future, Wiz Khalifa, Illenium, Louis The Child, Big Gigantic and many others spread across its multiple cities.

In 2019, PSG will produce nine festivals under the Breakaway, Prime, Haunted Fest, and #Fest brands. 

“The ones we’ve already announced are selling 60% stronger than last year, so that’s really exciting,” Prime Social Group managing partner Adam Lynn told Pollstar. “It just shows that the brand is becoming more popular and people are having a good time. That we sold a lot more tickets before even announcing who is playing shows brand loyalty, which is always good.”

Future will perform for Breakaway attendees in North Carolina, Tennessee, and Ohio, fellow Atlanta rapper Lil Baby touches down in Tennessee and North Carolina and Wiz Khalifa will headline in Ohio. 

On the electronic side, Kaskade is to perform at Breakaway North Carolina, Tennessee, and Michigan, where he will be joined by electronic icons Zeds Dead and FISHER in Tennessee, Illenium and Ekali in North Carolina, and Louis The Child and Big Gigantic in Michigan. 

Bassnectar will top the Ohio lineup with help from TroyBoi, Louis the Child blackbear, Matoma and many more industry leading acts.

“We’re already looking forward to next year, and we’re gong to be adding four new cities,” Lynn said. “As a company we’re really focused on the Breakaway brand, our biggest most exciting brand. Sponsors love it, too.” 

Illenium has been picking up steam over the last couple of years, with shows this fall including headlining Madison Square Garden and three dates at Red Rocks near Denver.

“Illenium is super exciting, and for the market we’re targeting, he has such a strong cult following. We’re also really excited about Bassnectar whose fanbase plans their year around seeing him, and is really help drawing sales. We’re excited to bring him back for his first show in Ohio in four years.”

Prime Social Group, led by managing partners Lynn and Zach Ruben, also announced a partnership with global clubbing and hospitality leader Drai’s Las Vegas in an effort to elevate the Breakaway VIP experience. 

Drai’s will bring a LIVE VIP partnership, aiming to provide the same attention to the VIP guest experience that it does at its premiere Beachclub and Nightclubs in Las Vegas and Dubai. 

In fall 2018 PSG opened a new Prime Brands office in Nashville, led by Jeremy Tharp focusing on sponsorships and brand relationships across its festival properties.
