ICM Partners signed Play-N-Skillz.
ICM Partners signed brothers Juan and Oscar Salinas, better known as the production duo Play-N-Skillz, earlier this week.
An international team of agents, headed by Harold Frogét, will represent Play-N-Skills at ICM and seek to expand the Grammy-winning, multi-platinum-selling duo’s opportunities in music, touring and brand partnerships.
“We are proud to welcome Juan and Oscar Salinas to ICM,” Frogét said in a statement. “As Play-N-Skillz, they have an impressive 10-year career, which is only getting bigger every day. This announcement coming while one of their tracks sits on top of the charts is a taste of great things to come. We’re excited to join them on that journey.”
The current hit Frogét referenced is “Con Calma,” the January single by Daddy Yankee featuring Snow. Play-N-Skillz produced the track, which reimagines Snow’s 1992 song “Informer,” itself a No. 1 hit on Billboard‘s Hot 100. Earlier this week, “Con Calma” ascended to No. 1 on Billboard‘s Latin Airplay chart; meanwhile, it currently sits at No. 57 on the Hot 100.
Since releasing their debut project in 2003, Play-N-Skillz have released several albums and mixtapes. But their most notable accomplishments have come from behind the boards. The duo produced Chamillionaire’s 2006 smash “Ridin’,” which topped the Hot 100 and won the Grammy for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group.
In 2008, Play-N-Skillz scored another hit with Lil Wayne’s “Got Money,” which peaked at No. 10 on the Hot 100; the single was nominated for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, and appeared on Tha Carter III, which won the Grammy for Best Rap Album.
The group has found continued success on the Latin charts, being nominated for Latin Rhythm Artist of the Year – Duo or Group at the Billboard Latin Music Awards in 2017 and 2018.
JNET PR & Management’s Jeannette Conrado manages the duo.
