Ryan Adams Cancels UK & Ireland Tour Dates Over Sexual Harassment Allegations

Ryan Adams has cancelled his UK and Ireland tour over Sexual Harassment Allegations raised by several women and made public by the New York Times in February.

A statement released by the tour’s promoter SJM Concert on Friday reads: “The Ryan Adams UK & Ireland tour has been cancelled. Full refunds to ticket purchasers from authorised outlets will be processed by end of day on Monday. 

Please allow time for the repayment transaction to hit your account.”

According to the New York Times, several women allege that “Adams offered to jumpstart their music careers, then pursued them sexually and in some cases retaliated when they spurned him.”

Adams has denied the claims.

The tour cancellation follows the cancellation of the release of Adams’ latest album Big Colors. It affects all dates from March 30 through April 11.

Several tour dates had already sold out, for instance at the Olympia Theatre in Dublin, Ireland, where the tour was scheduled to commence, March 30-31.

The subsequent date at London’s Royal Albert Hall on April 2 had been sold out as well, which is why a second date the day after had been added.

The tour was supposed to close on April 11 at the Cambridge Corn Exchange in Cambridge, England.
