Rascal Flatts Announces Summer Tour

Rascal Flatts announced a sweeping summer tour on Friday. The Summer Playlist Tour will take the country band to North American amphitheaters from May to September.

The stint kicks off May 16 on the familiar turf of Cincinnati’s Riverbend Music Center, which Rascal Flatts headlined every summer from 2005 to 2015. In their most recent gig at the venue, on Sept. 19, 2015, the band sold 13,543 tickets for a gross of $437,398.

Rascal Flatts will conclude the tour at Burgettstown, Penn.’s KeyBank Pavilion, another venue the band headlined every summer from 2005 to 2015, excluding 2011. In July 2015, they sold 13,229 tickets at KeyBank for a gross of $428,499.

As the starting and end points suggest, Rascal Flatts will revisit many longtime fixtures of their summer itineraries. They’ll be joined along the way by a rotating cast of openers including Lee Brice, Billy Currington, Jordan Davis, Jimmie Allen, Morgan Evans and LOCASH.

“We’ve been so fortunate on our journey to be able to have the best of the best new and established artists join us out on tour,” singer Gary LeVox said in a statement. “It’s been awesome to see those artists go on to such amazing successes. We’re excited this year to be able to have an awesome lineup of special guests, and we’re just ready to get back out on the road this summer. We can already feel that this tour is going to rock, come see it live!”

With the Summer Playlist Tour, Rascal Flatts will play their most shows in a year since 2015; the notorious road warriors played relatively fewer shows from 2016 to 2018, despite remaining active.

In a feat of live domination and longevity, Rascal Flatts appeared on Pollstar‘s Year End Top 100 Worldwide Tours every year from 2004 to 2015, when they grossed $18.7 million. Their most lucrative gig of 2018 was an Aug. 18 performance at DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, Mich., where the group sold 14,432 tickets for a gross of $589,989.

Rascal Flatts’ first five albums, released between 2000 and 2007, went multi-platinum, and the group’s next four LPs, released between 2009 and 2014, hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart. Their last album was 2017’s Back to Us, though they released the Jukebox EP last December.
