Travis Scott, Vampire Weekend, Cardi B Among Headliners for 10th Hangout Music Festival

Hangout Music Festival announced the lineup for its tenth annual edition Thursday. Travis Scott, Vampire Weekend, Cardi B, The Lumineers, Khalid, and Kygo will headline the event, which returns to Gulf Shores, Ala., May 17-19.
The booking solidifies Scott’s status as a festival headliner, after the 26-year-old rapper topped the bills of festivals including Governors Ball and Austin City Limits in 2018. He’s currently on an arena tour supporting his August album Astroworld, which debuted at No. 1; last night, Scott brought out Kendrick Lamar at the second of two shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden Arena. On Nov. 17, Scott assembled Lil Wayne, Rae Sremmurd, Young Thug, and more at NRG Park in his native Houston for the inaugural Astroworld Festival.
Cardi B’s inclusion, meanwhile, suggests the Bronx rapper — who enjoyed a meteoric rise thanks to her 2017 smash hit “Bodak Yellow” and No. 1 2018 album Invasion of Privacy — will hit the road in 2019 after touring only sparsely this year.
 Vampire Weekend continues to slowly awaken from a years-long slumber after headlining Lollapalooza this past August. The indie-rock stalwarts haven’t released an album since 2013’s Modern Vampires of the City, but have repeatedly teased their fourth LP is imminent; it seems likely to arrive in 2019, though that remains unconfirmed.
Other lineup highlights include The 1975, Diplo, Hozier, Griz, Walk the Moon, Jimmy Eat World, Bebe Rexha, and recent Hotstar Quinn XCII. Additional festival activities include swimming at beach clubs, disco skating at a full-sized roller rank, and the option to “smooch a pooch at the Puppy Kissing Booth.”
Hangout has been presented in conjunction with Goldenvoice since 2015. The festival grossed $7.94 million in 2013, the most recent year for which data is available.
Tickets go on sale Dec. 4 at 10 a.m. ET; regular three-day GA tickets will sell for $259.
