Janet Jackson Signs With Paradigm
Attention rhythm nation! Janet Jackson is now signed to Paradigm Talent Agency for representation in touring, theater, film, branding and all other areas.
Previously listed with WME, Janet Jackson was a touring powerhouse last year and came in at No. 62 on the 2017 Year End Top 100 Worldwide Tours chart.
“Janet Jackson is one of the most iconic and culturally significant artists of all time and we are thrilled to partner with her to create global opportunities for her as an artist and for the art she creates,” Sam Gores, Chairman and CEO of Paradigm said in a statement. “We will also seek inspiring opportunities to support Janet’s long history and dedication to social activism and female and gender advocacy.”
Jackson’s “State Of The World” tour ran this year. The stop at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., Sept. 30 this year grossed $339,351 on 3,738 tickets. There was a very wide price gap at that show, with the cheapest tickets running $59 and the top end at $500.
This year Jackson also headlined at Global Citizen Festival, Essence Festival and Outside Lands, and was scheduled to lead Southern California’s FYF Fest, though it was ultimately canceled.
Last year Jackson reportedly settled the lawsuit from fans upset about the repeated postponements of her “Unbreakable” tour, first due to problems with her vocal cords, then surgery, then pregnancy.
She has earned six Grammys, acted in films, and published films.
This another major move from Paradigm this week, as the agency just acquired Dale Morris & Associates in a deal with Morris Higham Management. The agency also hired Perry Gilman for its Canadian office in September, promoted Kristin O’Neill and Nate Sokolski to agents in July, and added agents Ali Hedrick and Trey Many in June.
