I.M.P. Expansion: More People Means More Office Space
I.M.P. has reportedly purchased two buildings from Howard University in Washington, D.C. as new office space for its growing operations.
It’s My Corner LLC, an IMP affiliate, purchased the buildings at 907 and 909 Florida Ave. for $993,400, according to Washington Business Journal. The company also reportedly owns adjacent property at 901 Florida Ave.
I.M.P.’s Audrey Schaefer told the Journal, “we need more office space.” A representative for I.M.P. had no additional comment at press time.
One of the company’s most recent triumphs was the opening of its mega-club The Anthem, which flexes from 2,500 to 6,000 capacity.
I.M.P. is one of the most prominent independent promoters in the country, and IMP’s 9:30 Club participated in the first U.S. edition of Independent Venue Week.
I.M.P. was a force on Pollstar’s 2018 Mid Year charts, with The Anthem coming at No. 2 and 9:30 Club at No. 3 on the Top 200 Club Venues chart. 9:30 Club has recently hosted Alina Baraz, Suicidal Tendencies and Nothing But Thieves. The Anthem has recently had First Aid Kit, Punch Brothers and Mac DeMarco.
