Fire Guts Knitting Factory Boise; Lizzo Show Moved

Fire ripped through the Knitting Factory Concert House in Boise, Idaho,  Sept. 11, leaving about 60 percent of the building damaged by flames and water but causing no major injuries.

Boise fire officials say the fire at the concert venue called the Knitting Factory in the downtown area was reported at about 5 p.m. Tuesday. Fire officials say three people were treated at the scene for minor smoke inhalation.

The last show being advertised by the venue was We Were Giants Sept. 8. 

Boise Fire spokeswoman Char Jackson says investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire.

Officials didn’t provide a damage estimate to the facility that can hold about 1,000 people.

Recent Boxoffice reports submitted from the venue include July 18 with J.J. Grey & Mofro (494 tickets sold, $13,805 grossed), July 16 with Sylvan Esso (998, $29,056) and X Ambassadors July 15 (841, $24,415).

Knitting Factory operates venues in cities including Brooklyn and Spokane, Federal Underground in Long Beach, Calif., Slowdown in Omaha, and produces events including Desert Daze.
